Jeff & Christa came to Guatemala in 1993 and first ministered with “Adopt-A-Child” working in Antigua and in the mountains of Quiche where the ministry fed over 5,000 children in different areas. The goal was to ensure each child received teaching about Jesus Christ, and many of them were born again. These children were sponsored by people in the USA, Germany and the UK. Jeff has always spoken about this ministry being a learning school for them both. Four years later their own ministry was born, “Final Harvest Ministries” with the vision of winning people to the Lord. Their first church was planted in the town of Parramos, and they saw it grow from 15 people to over 300 in just two years. Their second church plant was in the town of Ciudad Vieja and again they saw the church grow to over 300. During this time Jeff had a further accident with his back which led to 15 major operations on his spine and neck. This has not stopped him from serving the people of Guatemala, in fact, in 2016 they commenced a third church plant in the town of San Miguel Dueñas, not too far from where they live. Together with Pastor Juan Carlos and his wife Miriam, they prayed and asked the Lord what He wanted from them. It was clear to all four of them that they were to start a new church. In June 2016 in their living room, they began to pray exactly where in the town they were to start. Very soon in a rented house, they began to win people to the Lord. Some were young people, others middle age, and there the Holy Spirit has begun to do wonderful things among them. The church has grown slowly due to the fact that there had been a world outbreak of a covid pandemic. Tragically, Christa became a victim of covid and is now with the Lord Jesus Christ. Jeff took some months off, but her death affected him so badly that he had a number of heart attacks which led to 5 operations, the fitting of two stents, and eventually a pacemaker was fitted. This has not stopped Jeff from his love and evangelizing and teaching in the church, if anything he is even more on fire for the Lord.Pastor Juan Carlos has a wonderful gift of playing the keyboard. Miriam takes care of the children during church service and is a powerful intercessor, often having dreams and visions. Juan Carlos fell ill very soon after commencing the third church plant. The devil certainly did not like what they were doing! Jeff took him to a private hospital where he was immediately operated on. During the following weeks, he again was taken to the hospital and operated on another two times. A few days later he was pronounced dead by the doctor, but his wife Miriam refused to accept his death, removed everyone from his hospital room, and began to pray. Later what seemed like an eternity Juan Carlos began to breathe again! We knew for sure, that the Lord still had great plans for our team. Juan Carlos also teaches the youth to play instruments. Miriam teaches Sunday School with the children.
